    What are e-liquids?

Also known under other names such as vape juice or vape liquid, e-liquids are what vape kits and disposable vapes heat up to generate vapour and provide nicotine to the user via inhalation. These e-liquids come in a variety of different bottle sizes, VG/PG ratios, flavours and nicotine strengths.

What is vape juice made from?

E-liquids are made using three main ingredients, with a fourth being optional, nicotine:

    Propylene glycol (PG)

    Nicotine (optional)

The first two, propylene glycol & vegetable glycerine, act as the base for the e-liquid and are added on a ratio, such as 50/50 or 70/30, as these ratios cater to different types of devices.

Food-grade flavourings are then added to enable a wide range of different flavour options such as fruit, tobacco, drinks, menthol and combinations of the four.

Nicotine is the final ingredient, which is optional as some e-liquids come without nicotine, which can either be freebase or nicotine salt. Freebase is created, whereas nicotine salt comes directly from the tobacco plant meaning it's asborbed easier and therefore reduces cravings quickly.

What are the different VG/PG ratios with e-liquids?

E-liquids come in a variety of different VG/PG ratios as they are designed to be used with different vape kits - starter kits use e-liquids with a PG ratio of 50 or higher, whereas sub ohm kits use a VG ratio of 60 or higher.

    What is Propylene Glycol?

Also written in short hand as PG, Propylene Glycol is one of the base ingredients within e-liquids and is known for helping to deliver the throat hit. This flavourless liquid helps carry flavours for mouth-to-lung (MTL) devices such as starter kits and pod kits.

    What is Vegetable Glycerin?

You'll see this written sometimes as VG, Vegetable Glycerin is a thick liquid which comes from vegetable oil and is resposnible for creating immense levels of vapour when used with a sub ohm vape kit.

What are the different types of e-liquids?

There are a few different types of e-liquids, which are designed to be used with specific vape kits, such as nic salts with starter kits or high VG shortfills with sub ohm vape kits.

    • Low VG e-liquids - these includes include VG/PG ratios such as 50/50 or 60/40 and are usually found in 10ml bottles. These are designed use with starter kits or pod kits.
    • High VG e-liquids - some ratios commonly found in high VG e-liquids are 70/30, 80/20 or even 100VG. These e-liquids are solely to be used with sub ohm vape kits and are usually found in shortfills.
    • Nic Salts - These e-liquids feature nicotine salt from the tobacco plant, which is easy for users to absorb and therefore reduces cravings quickly.
    • Bar Salts - these e-liquids feature higher levels of flavour concentration than regular e-liquids, helping to recreate the same flavour strength that is found in disposable vapes.
    • Shortfills - These e-liquids come in larger than 10ml bottles and usually have space to allow for nicotine shots to be added, as these e-liquids come with zero nicotine inside.

How to choose your e-liquid flavour

With so many e-liquid flavours available if can be difficult to decide which is best for you - we would always recommend you start with something you know you enjoy, whether that's fruit, drinks, tobacco or menthol flavours and try a range of different flavours until you find your core flavours you really love.

Most new vapers tend to start with a tobacco flavour such as Fuu Original Silver Lone Cowboy or a menthol flavour like Ohm Brew 50/50 Ice Menthol so they can get used to vaping before venturing off to different flavours.
